Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (BMT)

In its role as subsidiary of Bayerische Rundfunk (BR) and Bayerische Landeszentrale für neue Medien (BLM) Bayerische Medien Technik GmbH (BMT) supports strategically important innovations ranging from new transmission methods to the convergence of broadcast and telecommunications. BMT has implemented a number of technical and market-oriented projects within the digital broadcasting business in recent years, thus contributing significantly to the success of the new media industry. BMT can provide information independent of products and system-specifications about new technologies and their advantages for public and private broadcast. BMT is synonymous with competence and know-how in the handling and controlling of media industry projects involving digital information processing. As central co-ordination office for various projects BMT provides for comprehensive information exchange and knowledge transfer between the participating project partners, oversees the implementation of project objectives in accordance with set requirements and deadlines, and ensures that these objectives are properly communicated to the public at large.

Role within the MHP-KDB project:
Since 2002 BMT has been developing Multimedia Home Platform (MHP) applications (i. e. "Pilawa", "Christiansen" for ARD and "Goosebumps" for Fox Kids) for private and public broadcasters, thus showing its commitment to interactive digital television.
