DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation)
DR is Denmark's oldest and largest electronic media enterprise. DR was established in 1925 as a public service organisation, and is today still purely funded by licence fees. DR offers two TV channels, four radio channels, and a rapidly growing web site (www.dr.dk) with streaming and interactive services such as chats, polls, etc. DR is actively supporting MHP through initiatives such as MHP Alliance and NorDig, and is also playing a major role in establishing digital terrestrial television in Denmark before the end of 2005.
Role within the MHP-KDB project:
DR is a broadcaster with years of experience working with iTV in general and MHP in particular. The main role of DR in this project is to share this experience by providing analytical and practical man-power, and by contributing with information about the situation in Denmark and DR regarding iTV and MHP.
Within the MHP-KDB project, DR is developing tools and reference applications for demonstration and experimentation purposes on application and architectural levels.
DR also participates in writing the concluding guidelines and recommendations in the project, such as "The MHP Guide".
